The Heroines’ Journeys

Journey into finding and expressing yourself

Starting August 2019

What is this course about?

This course focuses on understanding and breaking through the barriers that have been placed in getting to know one's own nature, and making way for one’s true expression to arise through honest, and courageous inner work. This journey will be arduous and will require facing one’s own darkness, but through this process of ‘conscious suffering,’ one can start to prepare the ground for the true ‘I’ to flower, much like a mother’s conscious sacrifice and toils allow the birthing of new life!

Have you ever asked yourself these questions?

Why am I unable to make progress on my personal goals?
How can I relate better to my kids/partner?
How can I find and express more of myself?
Who am I? What am I meant to become?
Is there more to life?

If yes, then YOU’RE NOT ALONE

It is innately human to wonder and yearn to feel more alive and connected. There have been many before us that left maps and clues from their own journeys to help those that come after. Understanding and applying these principles can be extremely difficult at the least, and in the worst case even be detrimental if interpreted incorrectly.

- Learn how to identify distractions and gain focus and traction towards our goals.
- Develop the ability to work past things that stop us.
- Learn to communicate and collaborate effectively.
- Discover what is needed to help accelerate growth and realize our greater potential.
- Begin to understand the mind and the ‘programs’ that are running us.
- Unpack what constitutes ‘I’ and learn the process of uncovering the values that dictate the way we operate with others and with ourselves.
- Find what unique gifts we bring to the world.

Joseph Campbell’s ‘Hero’s Journey’ outlines the archetypal patterns that commonly underlie myths from around the world, and more broadly, the general human experience of growth and adventure. While anyone can certainly benefit from studying these patterns and applying the lessons to their life, the Heroine’s Journey specifically focuses on the inner aspects of the journey and how these mythic structures translate into the experiences and perspectives of modern women.

In our current age and time, especially in big cities and places like the Bay area, the competitive nature of the environments largely incentivizes honing of skills such as - survival, using logic, being disciplined, having the ability to implement and execute, leading, being strong, accomplishing things alone, etc. While these qualities are essential, one’s frustration / lacking in wholeness arises when these qualities are not balanced with their counterparts - thriving, using intuition, being sure of who I am and what I want, nurturing and protecting, being courageous, gracious, inclusive and having a sense of community. So, this journey focuses on moving us towards that wholeness!

We’re a group of women that are committed to finding and expressing more of ourselves under the aegis of skilled teacher(s). We’re also women that are - mommies / martial artists / yoga practitioners / musicians / creatives / professionals etc. And we’re determined to share this wisdom and our journey with those that are seeking to find themselves.

The group as a whole will meet once a month for 2.5 hours of direct instruction from the teachers. Once a week, there will be support from mentors to help with assignments, discussions and questions. There will also be ongoing supporting material and prompts shared online/chat groups to help further explore the topics discussed during each month.

The introductory part of the journey covering the above topics is a 1-year long program. After that point, students who choose to continue will be either broken into smaller groups ( if their track is similar ) or continue by themselves with deeper work that is tailored to specifically help their growth and forward movement.

We’re still finalizing from a couple of options. The venue will be within a 1 mile radius of Mountain View downtown. We’ll share the exact location with students that are accepted into the program.

One-time $200 registration fee. $250 fee per month for 12 months.

Here are some of the questions people ask us about The Heroines’ Journeys course. Click a question to read the answers.

+ When is the registration deadline?

July 31st, 2019

+ How big is the group?

Given the deep nature of the work, we're limiting the class to 20 students.

+ How long is the commitment?

The introductory part of the course is a year long.

+ How many hours do I need to dedicate weekly?

What you put in is what you get out! That said, a minimum of 3 hours / week is recommended.

+ Can I miss any meetings?

You can miss up to 4 meetings, but not the work itself. :) If you miss, reach out to a senior student and make sure that you make up the time at the study sessions.

+ What if I am unsure if the Heroines' Journeys course is for me?

That’s a great question! We recommend taking a notebook and writing out what you feel. You can also come to one of our free info sessions and chat with the senior students to gain more clarity. If you’re unsure where to begin, try answering the questions on the application just for yourself.

+ Do you have a refund policy?

No. Only sign up if your heart wants to. If you choose to quit in the middle of the program, we’re not going to come after you! However, the registration and the monthly dues that are already paid are non-refundable.

+ How do I access the course materials? Or what kind of course materials will I get?

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras are available for free online. The other readings are by and large available at your favorite giant book- movie- car tire- and sundry vendor. Your registration fee also provides weekly course materials.

+ Are you shamans going to brainwash me and enlighten me?

Lol, no. We’d charge WAY more if we were going for the cult thing. :)

+ Who are you and why are you teaching this?

We’re just women who more or less were fed up with the way we were handling our lives ( at least ‘an’ aspect of it ) and wanted to do something about it. We’re by no means finished growing personally, but we want to share what we’ve been learning with our community.

+ What if I have more questions? Can I email you?

You sure can! Our email is
