About Our School
Kaze Arashi Ryu is a traditional Japanese art that in the past was taught to Samurai, with the focus on real fighting and war skills. The focus is not just on the techniques, but on the true and practical mastery of body and mind.
Sensei Lunia, who is a Mokuroku in the arts of Kaze Arashi Ryu, runs the group in Mountain View under the supervision of Sensei Sastri (pictured). Sensei Lunia has practiced and ranked in several other martial arts prior to learning this art, and is a direct student of sensei Sastri, MenkyoKaiden ("everything passed") of the system (more info, and listen to sensei Sastri speak about the art: Kaze Arashi Ryu, Teacher and Student, Spirituality).
In our school, the art is taught in its pure form - for the sake of the art itself - with absolutely no commercial intent behind it.
We practice in the open-air dojo in the Rengstorff park, Mountain View (south Bay) every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:45 to 6:45pm, and Saturday 8:30-10:30am. The cost is $75/month - and all of this money goes to charity (this is not a commercial school). Scholarships available for students in need. All you have to do is show up, and ask to be admitted to the floor.
